A FANTASY — Exchange of souls of two persons
A note: Please read the fantasy below, just for fun and without stressing your mind.
In morning before finally getting up and leaving my bed, I don’t know why a thought came in my mind about what can happen if by any chance the souls of any two imaginary persons get exchanged.
Let me introduce the two persons.
One is Mr. Paresh, a Pilot with an international airlines of repute — paid handsomely, age 52 years, married to a beautiful lady named Yasmin, who was air hostess — now not working; they a daughter Lily of age 8 and a son Gyan of age 5, living in the city Nagpur in the sate Maharashtra.
The other person of this fantasy is Mr. Sanatana, age 54 years, an industrialist — owner of a steel rerolling mill — rerolling steel from scrapped ships. Sanatana is married to Jyotsana daughter of a cement plant owner. They have two daughters Anika of age 12 and Baruni of age 8, also living in the city Nagpur.
It so happened that by a most freak chance both Paresh the pilot and Sanatana the industrialist have a cardiac arrest past midnight almost at the same time. Yamadoot an agent of Yama the God of death (as believed by Hindus) took away the soul of Paresh to abode of Yama and another similar agent of Yama took away the soul of Sanatana to the abode of Yama (Yama Lok) in heavens. Soon as both agents entered the gates of Yamalok they reported their entry to the record keeper named Chitragupta in his office at the gate.
An assistant of Chitragupta came with an instrument in his hand and asked one of the Yamadoots to tell name and address of the soul brought by him. The Yamadoot told that the soul brought by him had name Paresh who was married to Yasmin the mother of a girl Lily and a boy Gyan, living in city Nagpur in India. The Assistant of Chitragupta found that the details given by the Yamadoot were not right and an unwanted soul was brought to Yamalok. He told this fact to the Yamadoot and asked him to wait for further instructions and went to the office of Chitragupta and reported the matter to one of several assistants seated there. The assistant left his seat and went to Chitragupta and informed him about the incident and asked for his orders. Chitragupta told him to go and ask the Yamadoot to hasten and go back and return the soul to the body from which he had fetched the soul and as soon as possible bring soul of the right person named Paresh, aged 78 years, a retired school teacher, also living in Nagpur.
Simultaneously exactly similar things happened with the other Yamadoot, the soul of body named Sanatana. He too was instructed to rush back and return the soul brought by him and put it back into the body from whom he had fetched the soul and come back with the needed right soul from the body named Sanatana aged 82 a food grain dealer in Nagpur.
Upon being reprimanded by Chitragupta the two Yamadoots rushed back to return the souls brought by them to their respective physical bodies. But due to nervousness and being in a hurry the agents picked up wrong packets of souls. As a result of this mess up the soul of Paresh, the Airlines pilot got returned to the body of Sanatana, the Steel Rerolling Mill owner and vice versa. All this happens silently, total time elapsed between instant of souls being taken away by the Yamadoots and souls being put back by them not exceeding 5 to 8 minutes so that their respective wives sleep alongside on same bed did not notice anything.
In morning Yasmin wakes up Paresh with a coffee. But actually she is trying to wake up Sanatana who now is locked up in physical body of Paresh. Yasmin is surprised to hear from her husband Paresh “hmm .. where am I and who are you”. Yasmin thinks that Paresh had taken a couple of pegs of whiskey too many and was feeling dizzy. So she says, “OK you have 15 minutes to take a nap after which I will wake you up again. Don’t you remember that today you have to fly”? Sanatana locked inside body of Paresh get totally confused. He wonders what has happened. He is a teetotaler and this lady is telling that he had whiskey. And he had slept in his bedroom in his house with his wife Jyotsna but he is being woken up by this stranger lady in a different bed room and his head is aching. He tries to make out what had happened. In the mean Yasmin pushes him to the bathroom asking him to was face with cold water. In the bathroom when he looks at the mirror he is horrified. …
Same way Sanatana is woken up by Jyotsna with a cup of tea. Jyotsna shakes Sanatana and says, “get up take tea and go for your morning walk; I have to wake up children too else they would be late for school”. To Paresh locked inside physical body of Sanatana the sound of Jyotsna looks strange and unfamiliar and when he takes a look at the lady he is totally surprised and confused. He had never seen this lady and had slept in his bedroom with his beautiful wife Yasmin but is now being woken up by some strange — not so beautiful lady — in a different room. Thinking that he was dreaming and it was all unreal he goes to bathroom so as to freshen up with cold water wash of his face. Upon taking a look at the mirror he is horrified …
I don’t think that I would be doing justice if I write any further about the poor Paresh and Sanatana. Paresh in the body of Sanatana doesn’t even know where the steel rerolling mill is located. He has not even a hint of names of the children and what is name of the lady posing as his wife. Sanatana in the body of Paresh doesn’t have any idea where else other than his steel rerolling mill does he have to go in connection with his work … forget flying a plane.
Can someone advise what Paresh and Sanatana and their respective families what they should do under the circumstances they have fallen in?
Please … please … please … do help, if you can.
