Your article is factual and what you wrote has been experienced, I would say, Globally.
We use social media not only for fun, gossip and some use them for disruptive purposes too. Thus the social media are boon and bane at the same time.
Personally I use only WhatsApp for connecting with friends, gossiping and also for non-recreational purposes like messaging to my Bank Managers, Investment Managers, other service providers etc.
It was only now, after WhatsApp stopped functioning for several hours on 4th October that I realised that my use of WhatsApp had been more of the type which can’t be classified as necessary or important. Rather, my fingers had in course of time had become fidgety and when WhatsApp had gone under showdown my fingers were missing it like a parson who becomes addicted to Fidget Spinners.
I hope that many of us would have felt somewhat similarly.
