Dear Mr. Armaan Nanavaty,

Thanks for beautiful analysis of the situation through your article.

I was gifted with the first generation Kindle reader by my son 0n 2011. It is paperwhite but without any backlighting and I have been reading all kinds of books on it. By now I have bought hundreds of kindle ebooks and read them.

So much so that I have become habitual of reading a couple of pages every night just for getting to sleep and have a real good sleep every night.

Since my kindle ereader is not having backlighting featue reading a book on it is as close to reading a real book and it doesn't cause any eye strain.

It is a pity that bulk of buyers who make or mar a product are more fashionable than knowledgeable. Else Kindle would have gone in different direction of technical development (because necessity is the mother of invention) rather than the present one and would have remained without backlighting.
