Your outlook is very impressive. So far as success is concerned, even sky is not the limit. However, the limitation is that every thing in the universe takes time to happen and anyone who is born has a limited time at hands to live and it is during this limited time that one has to achieve and how much time is available at hand is unknown.
Keeping in mind the above boundaries, one has to proceed step-by-step, in appropriate manner that each small step is as planned. This way one can reach as much as his/her capability and time available at hand permits and try to be satisfied with it (I didn't say that one can definitely achieve satisfaction - but one ca definitely try to feel satisfied). Its some what like eating - you enjoy each bite.
"Success", per se, remains unachievable for the moment success is achieved the journey ends - difficult to say what is more enjoyable, the journey or the instant of reaching the destination.
Simply said, success is like space (or infinite i.e., ever expanding), undefinable, imaginary and unreachable. What can be success for one may be nothing to another person.
Another aspect is to realise that the term "success" is only for us humans for other living beings it just doesn't exist. For example a race horse never feels successful or unsuccessful irrespective of whether or not it wins a race. Simply said it is an abstract random perception of mind not under control of anyone.
What is under control is being satisfied by whatever milestone that is reached (significant or insignificant).
